1. 適用範囲と基本方針
本ポリシーは、Yuto Masamura（以下「開発者」）が提供するiPhoneアプリ
「Briefs」（以下「本アプリ」）に適用されます。本アプリの利用にアカウント登録は必要ありません。
開発者は、機能提供に必要な範囲でデータを取り扱います。
トラッキング、通知、第三者AIへのカスタムキャラクター情報の送信は任意です。
これらを許可しなくても、記事の閲覧・保存などの基本機能は利用できます。
2. 端末内に保存するデータ
本アプリは、次の情報をアプリのコンテナまたはUserDefaultsへ保存します。
- 表示言語、選択カテゴリ、通知設定などのアプリ設定
- 取得した記事のキャッシュ、閲覧済み情報、保存記事、記事メモ
- カスタムキャラクターの設定
- StoreKitから取得した購入状態のキャッシュおよび処理済みtransaction ID
- AIデータ送信への同意状態
これらは利用者がアプリ内で削除するか、本アプリを削除するまで端末内に保持されます。
ただし、iCloudへ同期されたデータはアプリの削除だけでは消えない場合があります。
3. iCloudとCloudKit
カスタムキャラクターはまず端末内へ保存されます。iCloudへサインインしている場合、
同期と復元のため、AppleのCloudKit private databaseにも保存されます。
iCloudが利用できない場合でも、端末内での作成・編集・選択・削除は継続できます。
CloudKit上のデータは利用者自身のiCloudアカウントに関連付けられ、Appleのサービス上に保持されます。
削除するには、アプリ内で対象キャラクターを削除するか、AppleのiCloudデータ管理機能をご利用ください。
4. ニュース記事とxAI API
本アプリはニュースRSSから記事タイトル、概要、公開日時、リンク等を取得します。
記事の要約・解説・キャラクター口調への変換のため、これらの記事情報をxAI APIへ送信します。
記事選定を言語と地域に合わせるため、端末の言語、地域、タイムゾーンから
「日本／海外」程度の地域区分を端末内で推定し、その区分を処理条件として送信します。
GPS等の正確な位置情報は取得しません。
利用者がカスタムキャラクターのAI調査またはカスタム口調による記事生成を明示的に許可した場合、
キャラクター名、説明、話し方の例、禁止フレーズ等もxAIへ送信されます。
入力欄には氏名、住所、連絡先、認証情報その他の機微な個人情報を記載しないでください。
xAIの説明では、Zero Data Retentionが有効でない通常のAPI設定の場合、
入力と出力を不正利用監査のため暗号化して最大30日間保持することがあります。
明示的な許可がない限り、APIデータをモデル学習には使用しないとされています。
実際の保持条件は開発者のxAIアカウント設定およびxAIのポリシーに従います。
AIが生成する要約や解説には誤りが含まれる可能性があります。
重要な判断を行う場合は、本アプリに表示される元記事のリンクから内容をご確認ください。
5. 広告、UMP、ATT
広告非表示を購入していない利用者には、Google Mobile Ads SDK（AdMob）を使用して広告を表示します。
地域に応じた広告同意の取得と管理にはGoogle User Messaging Platform（UMP）を使用します。
Google Mobile Ads SDKとUMPは、広告配信、同意管理、効果測定、不正防止、分析、診断のため、
IPアドレスから推定されるおおよその位置、端末・広告識別子、アプリや広告の操作情報、
広告データ、クラッシュ・パフォーマンス・その他の診断情報を収集または共有する場合があります。
iOSのApp Tracking Transparency（ATT）の許可は、広告識別子を用いたパーソナライズ広告のために使用します。
許可しない場合でも、同意状態と適用法令に応じて、トラッキングを伴わない広告が表示されることがあります。
ATTを拒否しても、記事の閲覧・保存、キャラクター作成、購入済み機能は制限されません。
広告同意は、アプリ設定に表示される「広告のプライバシー設定」から変更できます。
6. アプリ内課金
広告非表示とキャラクタースタジオの買い切り解放にはApple StoreKitを使用します。
本アプリはクレジットカード番号等の決済情報を取得しません。
購入履歴、transaction ID、返金・取消情報は、購入済み機能の付与、重複付与の防止、復元のために利用されます。
決済情報はAppleのポリシーに従って処理されます。

7. 通知とバックグラウンド処理
利用者が明示的に通知を有効にした場合、記事を確認するためのローカル通知を設定します。
通知はアプリ設定またはiOSの設定からいつでも無効にできます。
本アプリはiOSが許可したタイミングでバックグラウンドの記事更新を試みる場合があります。
実行時刻や頻度はiOSによって決定されます。
8. 外部サービスとデータの共有
本アプリは、機能提供に必要な範囲で次の事業者または提供元へデータを送信します。
- Apple：CloudKit、StoreKit、通知およびOS機能
- xAI：記事の要約・解説、および明示同意済みのキャラクター分析
- Google：広告配信、同意管理、不正防止、広告効果測定、診断
- RSS配信元および記事提供元：記事フィードの取得と元記事へのアクセス
元記事、問い合わせフォーム、その他の外部リンクを開いた場合は、各サービスのプライバシーポリシーが適用されます。
問い合わせフォームへ任意で入力した情報はGoogle Formsへ送信されます。
開発者は利用者のデータを販売しません。法令上必要な場合に限り、データを開示することがあります。
9. 保存期間、選択の変更、削除
- 通知：アプリ設定またはiOS設定から無効化できます。
- ATT：iOSの「プライバシーとセキュリティ」設定から変更できます。
- 広告同意：アプリ内の「広告のプライバシー設定」から変更できます。
- AI送信同意：アプリ設定から撤回できます。撤回後は、新しいカスタムキャラクター情報を第三者AIへ送信しません。
- 保存記事、メモ、キャラクター：アプリ内の削除操作を利用できます。
- iCloudデータ：アプリ内の削除操作またはAppleのiCloudデータ管理機能を利用できます。
端末内の情報は削除操作または本アプリの削除まで保持されます。
第三者サービスが処理する情報の保存と削除は各提供者のポリシーに従います。
法令または不正防止上の保持義務がある購入記録を除き、開発者が保有する削除要求対象データは合理的な期間内に削除します。
10. 子どものプライバシー
本アプリは子どもを主な対象としておらず、Kids Category向けアプリではありません。
ニュース内容、AI生成コンテンツ、広告を考慮した年齢区分をApp Storeで表示します。
11. セキュリティと国際移転
外部サービスとの通信にはHTTPSを使用します。Apple、xAI、Google等の事業者は、
利用者の国・地域以外でデータを処理する場合があります。その場合は、各事業者のポリシーと適用法令上の保護措置が適用されます。
12. 変更とお問い合わせ
アプリ、SDK、法令または運用の変更に応じて本ポリシーを更新する場合があります。
重要な変更は更新日の変更、および必要に応じてアプリ内の案内でお知らせします。

1. Scope and principles
This policy applies to Briefs, an iPhone application provided by Yuto Masamura
("the developer"). No account is required to use the app. The developer handles
data only as needed to provide the app's functions.
Tracking, notifications, and sending custom-character information to a third-party
AI are optional. Declining them does not prevent you from using core functions such
as reading and saving articles.
2. Data stored on your device
Briefs stores the following in its app container or UserDefaults:
- preferences such as display language, selected categories, and notification settings;
- article cache, read status, saved articles, and article notes;
- custom-character settings;
- cached purchase status from StoreKit and processed transaction IDs; and
- your choice about sending data to AI services.
Local data remains until you remove it in the app or uninstall Briefs. Data synced
to iCloud may remain after the app is uninstalled.
3. iCloud and CloudKit
Custom characters are first saved on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud,
they are also stored in Apple's CloudKit private database for sync and recovery.
You can continue to create, edit, select, and delete local characters when iCloud
is unavailable.
CloudKit data is associated with your iCloud account and retained within Apple's
services. Delete a character in the app or use Apple's iCloud data-management tools
to remove that data.
4. News content and the xAI API
Briefs obtains article titles, descriptions, publication dates, links, and similar
information from news RSS feeds. It sends this article information to the xAI API
to create summaries, explanations, and character-styled commentary.
To select content for your language and general region, Briefs derives a broad
Japan-or-overseas category on your device from language, region, and time-zone
settings, then sends that category as a processing condition. Briefs does not
collect GPS or other precise-location data.
If you explicitly allow AI research or character-styled generation for a custom
character, Briefs also sends the character's name, description, speaking examples,
prohibited phrases, and similar settings to xAI. Do not enter names, addresses,
contact details, credentials, or other sensitive personal information in these fields.
According to xAI, when Zero Data Retention is not enabled under the standard API
configuration, inputs and outputs may be encrypted and retained for abuse monitoring
for up to 30 days. xAI states that API data is not used for model training without
explicit permission. Actual retention depends on the developer's xAI account settings
and xAI's policies.
AI-generated summaries and explanations may contain errors. Follow the original-source
link shown in Briefs and verify the source before making an important decision.
5. Advertising, UMP, and ATT
Unless you have purchased ad removal, Briefs displays ads using the Google Mobile
Ads SDK (AdMob). Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) is used to provide and manage
advertising choices where required by region.
For ad delivery, consent management, measurement, fraud prevention, analytics, and
diagnostics, Google Mobile Ads and UMP may collect or share coarse location inferred
from an IP address, device or advertising identifiers, app and ad interactions,
advertising data, crash data, performance data, and other diagnostic information.
Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission is used for personalized advertising
involving an advertising identifier. If you decline, non-tracking ads may still be
shown according to your consent choices and applicable law. Declining ATT does not
restrict reading, saving, character creation, or purchased features. When available,
you can revise advertising choices through "Ad privacy options" in the app's Settings.
6. In-app purchases
Briefs uses Apple StoreKit for the one-time ad-removal and Character Studio purchases.
The app does not receive credit-card or other payment details. Purchase history,
transaction IDs, refunds, and revocations are used to grant features, prevent duplicate
grants, and restore purchases. Apple processes payment data under its policies.

7. Notifications and background processing
If you explicitly enable notifications, Briefs schedules local reminders to check
articles. You can disable them at any time in the app or iOS Settings. Briefs may try
to update articles in the background when iOS allows it; iOS determines the timing
and frequency.
8. External services and sharing
Briefs sends data as necessary to the following providers or sources:
- Apple, for CloudKit, StoreKit, notifications, and operating-system functions;
- xAI, for news summaries, explanations, and consented character analysis;
- Google, for ads, consent management, fraud prevention, measurement, and diagnostics; and
- RSS publishers and article providers, to retrieve feeds and open original stories.
A provider's own privacy policy applies when you open an original article, contact
form, or other external link. Information you voluntarily enter into the contact form
is sent to Google Forms. The developer does not sell user data. Data may be disclosed
only where required by law.
9. Retention, choices, and deletion
- Notifications: disable them in Briefs or iOS Settings.
- ATT: change the permission in iOS Privacy & Security settings.
- Advertising consent: use "Ad privacy options" in Briefs when it is available.
- AI consent: withdraw it in Briefs Settings. New custom-character information will no longer be sent to the third-party AI.
- Saved articles, notes, and characters: use the relevant in-app delete action.
- iCloud data: use the in-app delete action or Apple's iCloud data-management tools.
Local data remains until it is deleted or the app is uninstalled. Third-party providers
retain and delete data under their own policies. Except for purchase records that must
be kept for legal or fraud-prevention purposes, data held by the developer that is
subject to a deletion request will be removed within a reasonable period.
10. Children's privacy
Briefs is not directed primarily to children and is not offered in the App Store Kids
Category. Its App Store age rating reflects news topics, AI-generated content, and ads.
11. Security and international transfers
Connections to external services use HTTPS. Providers such as Apple, xAI, and Google
may process data outside your country or region, subject to their policies and
safeguards required by applicable law.
12. Changes and contact
This policy may be updated when the app, SDKs, law, or operating practices change.
Material changes will be indicated by a new last-updated date and, when appropriate,
an in-app notice.
